Affiliate program terms
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These terms cover the Sales Tooling affiliate program. They're deliberately short. If something here isn't clear, email support@salestooling.com and ask — we'd rather answer than have you guess.
What you earn
You earn 40% of every payment a customer makes to Sales Tooling after signing up through your referral link, for as long as they keep paying. There is no cap and no expiry: if they stay a customer for five years, you're paid for five years.
Commission is calculated on the amount actually collected, excluding any sales tax. It is not earned on free trials — only on real payments.
How a referral is attributed
- Someone clicks your link and we store a first-party cookie for 90 days.
- First click wins. If a visitor clicked your link before clicking anyone else's, they're yours.
- Changing your referral code doesn't cost you anything: the old one keeps working, and visitors already cookied still count as yours.
- The referral is locked in when they create their account, and never moves afterwards.
- Signing up through your own link is not a referral and earns nothing.
- People who join an existing company as a teammate are seats on someone else's subscription, not new referrals.
When you get paid
- Each commission clears 30 days after the payment it came from. That window exists to cover refunds.
- Once your cleared balance passes $50, we send it. Below that it rolls over.
- Payouts go by PayPal, Zelle or bank transfer — whichever you set in your settings. Any transfer fees your provider charges come out of the payout.
- US partners paid $600 or more in a calendar year must provide a W-9 before that payout. Partners outside the US may be asked for a W-8BEN. Taxes on what you earn are yours to handle.
Refunds and chargebacks
If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on that payment is reversed in proportion to the amount that came back — a partial refund reverses a partial commission. If it had already been paid to you, the amount is deducted from your next payout. Nothing else you've earned is affected.
What you may not do
These are the things that get an account paused, and they're the only ones:
- No paid search on our brand. Don't bid on "Sales Tooling" or close variants in Google Ads, Bing, or anywhere else.
- No spam. No unsolicited email, DMs, or forum drive-bys. Send it to people who asked to hear from you.
- No impersonation. Don't present yourself as Sales Tooling, use our branding as your own, or register domains or social handles containing our name.
- No fake claims. Don't invent features, prices, discounts, or coupon codes. If it isn't on our site, it isn't true.
- No cookie stuffing. The link gets clicked by a person who meant to click it — no iframes, redirects, or auto-loading.
- No self-referrals or incentivised signups — your own accounts, your family's, or paying people to sign up.
- Disclose the relationship. Where the FTC (or your local equivalent) expects it, say that you earn a commission. It's usually one sentence.
Pausing and closing
We can pause or close an affiliate account if these terms are broken. If we do, we'll tell you why by email — both a pause and a closure.
While an account is paused you don't earn at all. Clicks on your link aren't attributed, and payments from referrals you already have don't earn commission for as long as the pause lasts. That time isn't backdated when the account is reactivated. Commissions you'd already legitimately earned are still paid out — the only exception is earnings from activity that broke these rules, which we may withhold.
Closing an account ends access to the partner portal. Anything you're still owed is settled by email.
You can leave any time by emailing us. We'll pay out your cleared balance on the next run regardless of whether it's over $50.
Changes
We may change these terms or the commission rate. If we do, we'll email you at least 30 days beforehand. A rate change never applies retroactively: every commission is calculated at the rate in force on the day of the payment it came from, and once earned it is never restated. From the change onward, the new rate applies to payments from all of your referrals, including ones you already had.
Privacy
You'll see that a referral signed up, whether they're paying, and what they earned you — but never their name, email or company. Our customers' details stay private, exactly as yours do. See our Privacy Policy for what we hold about you as a partner.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
